We do not use vinyl stick letters, which peel, crack and fade over time. All items from our shop are handpainted in house with professional heavy pigment artist paints, or for the larger items, we use Benjamin Moore Advance furniture and cabinet paint. You expect quality that will last through the years, and that is exactly what we deliver.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO NOTE:
*“Unfinished kits” come as-is off the cutter at a great discount; they are shipped in multiple pieces with assembly instructions. They are not assembled in any way, nor are they ready to use.
*We do not finish the backs on most pieces. We do design our pieces so that wood plugs, most knots and the like are in the back. However, if your piece has a wood knot, mineral streak, wood grain, or any other natural occurring instance in wood, it is not a defect. Know you are buying a piece made with natural wood and understand the possibilities of how it may arrive.
*Items are painted by hand. There will be brush strokes. These are not defects. We do not use spray paint, so you will see actual proof that these are done by hand.

General Product Information:

All of our home items are made out of 1/8" or 1/4" MDF or Baltic Birch, depending on what you choose. Because we use top of the line Benjamin Moore Advance paint your item will bring you years of enjoyment. Our stain colors are custom blends, specific to Papa’s Cottage, and can sometimes vary ever so slightly in shade depending on the mix.

Frame Covers:

**All frames over 5”x7” include professional optical styrene as the photo cover. This helps protect your photo from aging, smoke, household dust, etc. We use styrene as it ships safely, and because it is much safer to use around children than mass produced frame glass. To clean, wipe with a damp cloth and dry. Do not use chemicals on the styrene, it will fog or etch. Initially, your photo protector may have plastic film on both sides to protect the styrene. Remove this sheeting before using your frame. The styrene is not glued in place, so you may replace this if you so desire. Replacements made are not the responsibility of Papa’s Cottage. **Unless noted in the description, photo frames that are 4”x6” and under include a secured piece of optical acetate to protect your photos. This sheet is glued in place and must be permanently removed to be replaced.

Mounting Information:

**Hanging photo frames include a back piece made of Acid-Free Professional Grade Mounting Board. Tabletop frames will include an easel and include a matching backpiece made of MDF or Baltic Birch. All of our items are designed and constructed in the US, and every piece is then hand-finished to make sure it is top quality before it leaves our workshop.

Remember that these are handmade, and slight variations can and do occur. In addition, we are using wood products that have slight variations in shading, grain and natural tree anatomy.
